Error message
FIC1 unix: ALERT: SCSI command on (1,4) timed out See Long Description for complete error. 1.- Thru Insite, log on to system, enter the ezlog, and choose the /usr/adm/SYSLOG for analysis. ( You can do the same in an unix window...with more /usr/adm/SYSLOG ) SYSLOG is where IRIX hardware and operating system software errors are reported. Here You will find the reason for CPU malfunction, SCSI Errors and indications of system Start ups. In this particular case, this is what was found: May 8 06:36:23 1A:FIC1 unix: ALERT: SCSI bus reset on controller 1. May 8 06:36:25 5A:FIC1 unix: NOTICE: recvcomp: stat=0x7,scsistat=0x0 May 8 06:36:25 2A:FIC1 unix: May 8 06:36:40 1A: FIC1 unix: ALERT: SCSI command on (1,4) timed out after 7 ss. SCSI (1,4) is the Serial port expander, ST1800.
