XRd2X Customer tried a "Standing-Up AP Townes View" using the Wallstand. Did this with the tube angulated so the X-ray beam is pointing 45 degrees downwards from horizontal. See long description. On the process of positioning the Wallstand Detector to the head of the patient (starting from the Detector at the waist of the patient going up to the patient head) they noticed that the X-ray tube tracks the movement of the Detector and then it stops moving up to a certain point. Raising the Wallstand further after this would create an "exposure hold". Looking at the OTS found there is still some clearance for the X-ray tube to go further up but something tells it to stop at this point. However moving the X-ray tube further up also creates an "exposure hold" situation. This creates a problem when doing medium to tall patients. Investigating the situation found at this point where the tube stops, the focal spot of the tube is at 197 cm. from the floor. This distance of the focal spot from the floor remains the same at whatever tube angulation because we angulate the tube using the focal spot as the pivot point. Heading out to the Wallstand, found that while moving the Detector to its maximum height, the center of the Detector is at 197 cm from the floor. Wonder if the software or a firmware as actually preventing the tube to track the Wallstand at such a positioning configuration? Recommended to the customer to perform procedure as PA Townes View, but the radiologist would not accept the resulting image. Also, this is limited by the maximum travel of the X-ray tube, which is at focal spot being at 46 cm from the floor which is a problem for shorter patients. Right now, customer either has the patients sit down on the stool or they would use their Proteus or Advantx Legacy room to do these procedures.
