Do we support the DICOM service for Modality Performed Procedure Step (MPPS or PPS) on our Nuclear Camera Products? Modality Performed Procedure Step (MPPS) The Modality Performed Procedure Step (MPPS) service works in concert with the Modality Work List service to provide exam status updates. First, the DICOM Interface accepts INPROGRESS messages from imaging modalities. When the DICOM Interface receives an MPPS message, it updates the exam state from Order to In Progress. Because the exam state has been updated, the exam no longer appears on the work list provided to the imaging modality. Second, the DICOM Interface can act as an MPPS manager and forward MPPS messages to another application entity, such as a RIS or other work list provider
