Effectivity : All Lx Systems Problem Description: Failures in the Bit 3 Link can show themselves as; TPS communication errors, TPS download failures, degraded system performance (i.e. image display or reconstruction slow) and occasionally as intermittent computer (i.e. Octane) crashes. One of the areas of great difficulty can be troubleshooting problems related to the Bit 3 communication link. The information below can be extremely helpful in troubleshooting this link. While these diagnostics may not point at the specific failing FRU, they can be used to determine if the Bit 3 chain is failing or not. If failing, then part substitution can then be used in conjunction with the diagnostics to find the failing FRU.
