Mottled or splotchy effect of black areas in the background of the monitor display.
Symptom
Mottled or splotchy effect of black areas in the background of the LCD Display "Mottled" or "splotchy" effect of black areas especially the background in the monitor display only, seen in patient images only. See Long Description and attachment. This is an 1.5T Excite HD system (running 12.0_M4_0520.a software) upgraded on April 3, 2006 from LX 9.1. The system had previously been equipped with a NEC2010 monitor. After the upgrade, there was a "mottled" or "splotchy" effect of black areas, especially the background, in the monitor display only. Effect seen in patient images only with the NEC 1980SXi monitor that was provided in the upgrade. The FE replaced the monitor and computer and did a complete software load twice, once with all new hard drives using a new computer and using different OS and Apps s/w media. They checked with another site in the area with the same config and it does not have this problem. They affirmed that "NEC1980SX" was correctly selected in the Install GUI. It was correctly selected after the LFC during the upgrade, they didn't have to make the selection.
