The operating system hangs during boot up or reset and asks the user to complete a FSCK. The right monitor may be blank. A error occurred during the file system check, dropping you to a shell. The system will reboot when you leave the shell. Give root password for maintenance for Control-d to continue. The operating system hangs during boot up or reset and ask the user to complete a FSCK (File System Check). The right monitor may be blank as the boot up did not load far enough to run right monitor. On boot up or reset the user gets the following message: “An error occurred during the file system check, dropping you to a shell. The system will reboot when you leave the shell. Give root password for maintenance or type Control-d to continue.” The system will be at the shell prompt.
