HiSpeed CT/i 4.X with Indigo and HSA Gantry
Symptom
CTi: 4.4, 4.5 IRIX fails to boot intermittently after software load and may generate a loud screeching sound from the intercom See Long Description for additional detail CTi: 4.4, 4.5 IRIX fails to boot intermittently after software load and may generate a loud screeching sound from the intercom. CTi 4.4 Indigo CPU. OC system Disk failed and was replaced. After the software load, the system would intermittently fail to come up to applications level. The message in the OC SYSLOG was: savecore GIO error / addr 0x400: 0x4083800 PANIC: IRIX KILLED DUE TO BUS ERROR @ PC:0xc0674ff8 ep:0xffffca60 The system may boot to applications if tried as many as 3-5 times. Once up in applications, the system would scan without error. If the system was shut down, it might take 3-5 times of rebooting before it would get to applications without error.
