The scout scan thickness should redefine. 1.0mm beam thickness will be used to do scout scan instead of 0.5mm beam thickness. • Cine 2i The Europe customer highly complained that 2i mode was not available in Cine scan. New version software will enhance cine scan, add 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10mm 2i cine mode. • Fewer Slices of Tube Warm up In order to reduce scan number, the maximum scan is changed from 25 to 9. • Fewer Slices of Daily Calibration Slices of Daily calibration is also reduced. If you have intalled the option of asymmetric. The daily calibration will reduced from 73 to 20(from the first day to the sixth day) or 27(the seventh day). If you hadn’t this option, the daily calibration will reduced from 73 to 18(from the first day to the sixth day) or 25(the seventh day). The additional 7 slices on the seventh day are IQ Performance test. The Initial Daily Calibration of Periodic Maintenance includes the complete 25 slices. • New helical pitch display The helical pitches of “HQ 0.75:1” and “HS 1.5:1” are replaced by ”0.75:1” and “1.5:1” respectively on helical pitch selection menu. 2 INSITE SOFTWARE • CT/e Dual Series Class M Service Software 2.00 (2345439) CDROM is now available. InSite software V/R 6.00 CDROM is still available (2308063 – HiSpeed, ProSpeed, CT/e Series InSite Software V/R–6.00). Both of the above CDROMs are compatible to CT/e Dual, ProSpeed AII/FII/EII. • Please select Product Line ‘HWCT-E’, Model Type ‘CTE DUAL’ while Checking Out Insite. INFORMATION FOR SERVICE – NOT LISTED IN CUSTOMER LETTER • Auto Patch Installation via Insite is not available at V/R2.06G. • The number of Continuous Cine Scan Image cannot be set higher than maximum limitation during Off–Line Scan. The maximum number of image is 120 images. And also, there is a limitation of Rotation time. The image number can be set higher than maximum limitation, but the scan will fail by error. • When one exam contains several series of Axial, Helical, or Cine, all of the raw data will not be stored to MOD, if they are saved by series. • Scan might be done with X–Ray off during DGCAL on rare occasions. When this phenomenon occurs, image defect of becoming black toward the center of DFOV will occur. • Do not select [Confirm] on the Preview screen with SmartRecon. • If the Attention Dialogue emerges after choosing [Select Patient] of Patient Schedule, do not hit [Yes] but [No]. • When [Confirm] is selected on the Preview screen, any one of the following measures will restore the condition. i) Select [Cancel] at the Attention Dialogue on the Preview screen and go back to the View/Edit screen to hit [Confirm] again. ii) Select [Cancel] when the Attention Dialogue appears on Patient Schedule. iii) Select [Confirm] for SmartRecon on the View/Edit screen. • Use alphabet and alphanumeric characters only when entering Hospital Name at Reconfiguration setting. System will not accept other characters such as ’(’ etc. • Phenomenon of taking long time to start RawMgr, and even the system does not start up, may occur. In this case, perform the following patch procedure. Click on Shell located on the upper right of the screen. Move the mouse in the shell window, then type the following responses to the indicated prompts: %su password: #bigguy <enter> >cd /usr/g/config <enter> >nedit rawmgr.init <enter> Select Search –> Find. The Find window appears. Move the cursor into the Find window, then enter #STARTTIMEOUT , then click on Find to display “#STARTTIMEOUT=” in the window. Delete “#” and add “60” to be modified to STARTTIMEOUT=60 . Select File –> Save. Select File –> Exit. Enter exit twice to terminate the shell window. LIMITATION AND ERRATA 1 PRECAUTIONS (INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMER – LISTED IN CUSTOMER LETTER) . 1-1 System • In order to maintain constant system performance it is highly recommended to reboot the system once a day. • It is best to use the Stop Scan button on the keyboard to stop the scan immediately. The use of the Pause button may not stop the scan immediately due to the signal transmission timelag. 1-2 Gantry • When the gantry tilt is set at zero degrees, the External Landmark button on Gantry Control Panel must be depressed for more than 0.5 seconds. Make sure that the [Distance from Landmark] display on Gantry Display Panel shows the number around 190 mm. When the gantry is tilted, keep depressing the button until the indicator LED gets dim in order for the system to adjust the table height. 1-3 Scan Desktop • Even when the Scout scan can be done within the cradle scannable range, the Helical scan may not be prescribed within that full range. In that case, Axial, instead of Helical, is recommended for the unscannable range with Helical. • When a big patient is scanned with Axial 2i mode, make sure that the patient’s body does not obstruct the reference channels attached at the both ends of the detector. If the reference channels are obstructed, image density will be different between even pages and odd pages. • When retro recon the scaned images of Cine mode, the “recon start” means the scanning time of starting. The “recon end” means the scanning time of ending. 1-4 Smart Recon • During SmartRecon, the recon engine may abruptly hang up and stop updating real-time images. Workaround: When this phenomenon occurs, do not abort the process and go through with scanning. The normal reconstruction will start upon completion of the scan. • When the F5 key is pressed immediately after the scan start in Smart Recon, it may cause the WW/WL values to jump marring the image. Workaround: Press the F5 key again to restore the values. • When [Confirm] in Smart Recon is selected during the Auto Filming operation, some images may be missed. Workaround: Select [Pause] from the AutoFilm viewport prior to hitting [Confirm] in Smart Recon. • With Smart Recon, if [Confirm] is selected on the Preview screen, you may see the warning message when a patient is selected from Patient Schedule next time. Workaround: When the message appears, select [Cancel]. Select [Confirm] on the View/Edit screen. 1-5 SmartPrep • When Baseline images are being displayed, there may be two blue frames to which the mouse button feature is not linked. • When the [Scan Phase] button is selected during X-ray emission in the Monitor Phase, neither the [Pause] icon on the screen nor the [Pause] button on the keyboard works until the subsequent scan ends. Please use the [Stop Scan] button on the keyboard to stop the scan. • While the cradle is moving prior to the X-ray emission in the Scan Phase, the [Pause] button on the keyboard does not work. Please use the [Stop Scan] button on the keyboard to stop the cradle. 1-6 Display Desktop • Sometimes images may fail to appear in AutoLink viewport. Workaround: Select [Restart Display] at Image Works. • After exercising the commands of “tmh on/off (tick mark horizontal)” and “tmv on/off (tick mark vertical)”, if the new values of WW/WL are set by F6-11 keys, both “tmh” and “tmkv” will be reset. This will not occur in Image Works. • If click “inverse video” to inverse the image display and then restart the display, the four images on the view ports may be showed with different kinds of background. Workaround: Please do not click on ‘restart display’ after clicking ‘inverse video’. 1-7 Filming • Some models of laser cameras do not support the 2 on 1 (side by side) film composer layout. Workaround: Avoid using this format. • Film MID in Compare Mode handle only side-by-side selected images. It does not deal with all displayed images. Workaround: Do not use Film MID in Compare Mode to target all images. • MID filming may render small letters like a hospital name illegible. Workaround: Deleting a hospital name is recommended. 1-8 Network • “Sort by Date” in the Remote Browser does not work properly. It should first sort by date and then by time. Currently, it does not sort by time of day. • If the scan is performed with [Auto Transfer] on and the system is shut down with some Recon Queues remaining, the Recon will restart after the reboot but the images will not be transferred. Workaround: Transfer those images manually. (The images that were put in the queue will be transferred after the reboot. ) 1-9 Image Works Desktop • In case you turn off the main power to the system immediately after removing a great number of images, when you boot up the system next time, there may still be some images unremoved. When you want to remove some 3,000 images, wait at least five minutes before turning off the power. It may take around 30 minutes to remove some 18,000 images. • With the Image Works viewer open, changing the desktop from Image Works to display and back again to Image Works will cause the color of image annotation to turn red. Workaround: Moving back the cursor to the frame will turn the color to white. • When using “Reference Image”, some of the image layouts will not display the reference image. The operator will use the Next/Prior Key to load images in all the layouts. When this is done the Reference image will not be displayed on all the images. Workaround: Simply press “All On” once again and the images will update displaying the reference image. • The operator should avoid changing Desktops immediately after launching 3D, Reformat, MIROI, etc. If any of these features are launched in another desktop other than Image Works, please exit the application and restart in Image Works. • When using CT-lung or CT-soft preset to make 3D for Min-IP display, image is not displayed by changing angle up and down from Anterior direction. In this case, please change angle from left to right direction to recover image. • [Restart Display] should be selected when a certain window can not be selected during the operations on Display desktop. When [Restart Display] is selected during the exam, the following things occur. ①Images stop appearing in AutoView port, though the images start appearing from next scans. ②Cross reference lines are not properly shown. ③Images may not be displayed on Scan desktop. In that case, return to Localize. ④Filming queues are automatically deleted. • When 3D objects in multi-windows are “painted”, the background color may change a little bit. • After “Reference Image All On” is applied to 2 x2 viewer and then the format is changed to 3 x 3, the Reference Image will be displayed on only the first four images. (Only on Image Works desktop) Workaround: Set Ref. Image All again. • While Viewer is being used, the type commands like “fi”, “ges”, “zo”, “inv”, “ang”, “el”, “dist”, and “fo” cannot be used. Please select any of those functions from the tool bar. 1-10 Scan Protocol • Scan protocols can not be transferred from HiSpeed series (ZX/i, LX/i, FX/i, DX/i) and CT/e. 1-11 Patient Information • When [Delete Completed Exams] is selected in Patient Schedule,three-or-more-digit number can not be accepted. • If the maximum 64 characters are put in the Patient Name in Patient Schedule and you exit from it, next time when you enter it, you may see irregular characters on the tail of the name. This is just a display problem, which does not affect the data. 1-12 Raw Data • During scanning, do not save or restore raw data. That may cause the scan to halt. 1-13 DICOM Performed Procedure Step (This concerns users with PPS option.) • PPS information of retro-reconned images will not be automatically updated. Perform Retro Recon before End Exam or select [Defer] with End Exam and set PPS from Browser after completing Retro Recon. If you select [Complete/Discontinue] with End Exam, PPS can not be updated for the images that are retro-reconned afterward. • Keep in mind that PPS does not support the following image types. Screen Save, 3D/Reformat, Add/Sub, Exams in which Edit Patient is done. 2 LIMITATION AND ERRATA (INFORMATION FOR SERVICE – NOT LISTED IN CUSTOMER LETTER) 2-1 Raw Data • Problem: After one online scan is finished, delete the images of this exam at once. At a later time, restore some other images of this exam number (Restore or Network transfer). And the rawdata control information may be destroyed. As a result, retro recon works could not be performed. • Way out: 1.Before restore an exam, confirm that there are no raw data of the exam exist. 2.If the rawdata control information has been destroyed, the only way of fixing the problem is to delete all the rawdata control information: - Application Shutdown - Run rm /usr/g/config/RAWCTRLTABLE in shell (This operation will cause currently existing raw data not available) - Restart the system 2-2 Application Shut down • Problem: After clicking the desktop menu [Shut Down], the system may still keep running for a while. At this time, [Start up] button will not function properly. • Way out: Please wait until the Application is shut down and restart 2-3 Tube Cooling • Problem In some service tools (especially HeatSoak), before the scans begin, there will usually be a cooling time automatically assigned according to the tube temperature states. If the cooling time is displayed as 30 minutes, after the 30 minutes cooling is over, more cooling time may be assigned. • Way out: Please finish all cooling processes. The reason for this is that the max cooling time in system is 30 minutes, cooling time over 30 minutes will be divide into pieces. 2-4 Off-Line Scan • Problem: In service tool [Off-Line Scan], use [TG Control] to turn [Auto Collimator] on, and then take a [DAS PATTERN](DAS Mode) scan. The scan could not proceed. • Way out: Please turn [Auto Collimator] off in this case. 2-5 Installation • Problem: In installation (LFC) process, after the “makepart”, system could not auto shutdown and error message “/CDROM/bin/makepart [258] XXXXX (coredump)” is displayed. • Way out: Please turn off the OC power, and turn it on after several minutes. “Starting up the system” screen is displayed and press ESC key (as normal operation). • Problem: In installation (LFC) process, the “makedisk” command may result in a lot error message and function improperly. • Way out: Please execute /CDROM/bin/makedisk again. 2-6 Auto Post Recon • Problem: Using Helical/Cine raw data to perform Auto Post Recon may result in recon error. • Way out: Please use Axial raw data for Auto Post Recon 2-7 Options • Problem: After LFW without restoring system state (restore state separately), some options (Raw data 1000/Image Disk/Image Disk 20000) may function improperly or cause system not bootable. • Way out: No matter when system option settings are changed, system state shall be saved. And please follow the steps listed below: - Use Option key MOD to install appropriated options - Restart the system and verify the options just installed function properly - Insert the system state MOD and save state. - Please keep the save state history (mark the date, time, operator and any information that helps to track the history on the MOD disk). • Problem: 3000 blocks of raw data may be saved after “Raw Data 1000 Max” is installed. • Way out: The name of “Raw Data 1000 Max” is not quite appreciated (“Raw Data 3000 Max” is more suitable). Never mind. 2-8 MOD • Problem: When command “mountMOD” executed in shell, error message indicating MOD lock mode not functioning properly may be displayed. • Way out: This will only affect the lock mode of the MOD, and will not cause any other disadvantages. • Problem: If a 5’ MOD is placed in the 5’ MOD drive, executing “mountMOD” in shell will cause the 5`MOD locked (unable to be taken out). • Way out: execute command “unmountMOD” in shell 2-9 Power on test • Problem: Executing “poweron” in shell when the CT application is still running will cause system halt. • Way out: Avoid using “poweron” when system application is still running 2-10 Service Desktop • Problem: Service tools, which do scan jobs, will not be available if there is still some not ended exam in the [Scan] desktop. • Way out: Please end the exam in [Scan] desktop. • Problem: While using service tools, UNIX shell may be needed. Using the shell started from [Scan] desktop may cause some service tools function improperly. • Way out: Please use shells started from [Service] desktop. Both desktop menu “shell” and [Service]->[Diagnostics]->[shell] are OK. • Problem: Click [ImageWorks]->[Restart Browser] will cause Service Browser disappear. • Way out: Click [Service]->[Start SV Desktop] • Problem: IQ Performance Tool Status in Service Browser home page may be blank, and no status indicated. • Way out: Perform daily calibration firstly 2-11 Date Setting • Problem: Setting date time while system application is still running may cause in “ScanCtrl” process death. • Way out: Avoid date time setting change while system application is still running. 2-12 CT# Adjustment • Problem: CT# Adjustment will report a error message “There are several series matching your request. If the returned series does not suit you, use the Browser to select another one” if the time region selection is currently in daylight saving time mode. • Way out: Please set your time region setting correctly. This is a bug, which will not cause any obvious disadvantage. 2-13 Insite • Problem: Installing Insite software (Class-M package)/Checking out without shutting down the system application will cause Insite features not available. • Way out: Please keep the system application down whenever Insite installation or Checkout is being taken. • Problem: After successfully installing the insite, Reboot the system before doing any configuration, the system will hang up. • Way out: When finish installing the insite, remembering to configurate the insite using the install insite button at once and especially, the value of the “Device Connection Type” in the Device Conection page must select modem in the first time. Of course, the value of other parameter should be appropriate, that depends on the local requirements and experience. Only after finishing this, you can just reboot the system. • Problem: When you set the Dial-out Prefix to a value which contains one or more '#', perhaps the modem wasn't connected any more and the system will hang up if you reboot this system. • Way out: When you are configuring INSITE via InstallInsite button, you must make clear about how dial out from the location(which the product locates). Which may be great different between hospitals(it depends on the local phone system). Only basing on this point, you can just decide what value the parameter of Dial-out Prefix is and its value couldn't contain any character of '#'. Some examples of the value of the Dial-out Prefix: (Making it blank can dial out directly) (9, dial the number 9 before dial out) (9w, dial the number 9 at first and waiting for the second tone, then dial out) (Do NOT enter a # in the box) 2-14 Recon • Problem: Axial 2i Recon is not enable if 2 or 4 NPRS boards plugged. • Way out: Please use Axial 1i or Helical to monitor the status of NPRS boards. 2-15 Tube Type The Tube Type setting in [Reconfig]->[Hardware Settings] should be set to “ESR Tube” which is the only available choice for CT/e Dual series products.
